Cono Sur Ocio Pinot Noir 2012
The 2012 Ocio Pinot Noir from Casablanca is produced with the fruit from a vineyard planted with the Pommard clone, the first Pinot Noir vineyard planted in Chimbarongo in Colchagua, which dates from 1968 and was later purchased by Cono Sur. The Pommard clone is a clone that produces very low yields. The wine is aged 12 months in new French oak barrels and two months in stainless steel. It's quite aromatic, with notes of red berries (red cherries, wild strawberries and red currants) and blood orange with some soil notes and just a whiff of smoke and spice. The palate is medium-bodied with high intensity of flavors, delineated acidity, great length and poise and has an overall Burgundian character. Elegant and powerful, a great combination. Drink 2015-2020. Score - 92. (Luis Gutierrez, erobertparker.com, June 2014)
