Ormarine Carte Noire Picpoul de Pinet 2013

One of the most vibrant of the named Crus of the Coteaux du Languedoc, the wines of Picpoul de Pinet are produced exclusively from the ancient grape Picpoul Blanc. The name means 'lip-stinger,' in reference to the grape's exceptional acidity. This example is floral, with an attractive nose of orchard fruit, melon and mineral tones. Crisp and refreshing, the palate is lively and smooth with a great mineral backbone. Quite lovely. (VINTAGES panel, June 2014)
