It is precisely from this project that we received the two most convincing labels, the Amarone San Rocco 2008 and the Monte 2008. The former comes from high in the Valle di Marano, and offers a nose in which fruit takes a back seat, with aromatic herbs and mineral notes to the fore, leading to a dynamic but austere palate with great depth.
