Torres Grans Muralles 2004

Flagship wine of Miguel Torres, the 2004 Grans Muralles is both incredibly individualistic and fascinating. Dark-opaque ruby in colour, it delivers outstanding, uniquely outlined aromas of black fruits, plums, smoked duck, leather, hickory, forest floor, table grapes (quite delicate), vanilla, and spice. Seriously complex, boasting deliciously structured fruit, very firm tannins, balanced acidity, and a poignant, impactful hint of black fruits, smoked duck, and subtle leather on the finish. Fabulous character, harmony, focus, and power. Garnacha, Cariñena, Monastrell, Garro, and Samso (percentages unknown). Now-2028. (Tasted November 2013) Score - 93.
