This is less elegant but more complex than the Lavaut with its red pinot fruit, floral and stone aromas that are trimmed in a background hint of wood. There is fine richness and volume to the medium-bodied flavors that possess plenty of punch as well as solid dry extract levels that impart a textured mouth feel to the balanced and highly persistent finish. There is good phenolic maturity to the supporting tannins that are firm but not especially austere though firm enough such that 10 to 12 years of cellar time should be anticipated. Outstanding.
