The Athene blends equal parts of cabernet sauvignon and syrah, a harmony that has excelled in Australia and Chile. The nose shows stirring perfume of violets, currants and fine barrel spice. The palate is weighty with powerful oak supporting potent and polished black fruit, notes of cedar and cracked pepper and brisk acidity that keeps it on the elegant side of full-bodied.
