Syrousse 2012

Ripe, layered and textured, the 2012 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Tautavel is made from 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 10% Carignan (all from 50+-year-old vines) that's aged all in tank. It gives up a smoking bouquet of black raspberry, exotic spices, ground herbs and hints of flowers as well a rich, full-bodied profile on the palate. Staying lively and fresh, with a straight-up, gulpable style, it's a knockout value that shouldn't be missed. Drink bottles over the coming couple of years. Score - 90.
