Château des Charmes Old Vines Riesling 2012

This is fine and honeyed, mineral riesling, perfectly pitched between fruit and earth, stones and fruit. The palate is fullish and off-dry, quite richly flavoured, with solid intensity - a wine of genuine complexity and length. Classy and complex. Surely a top riesling in the riper and richer style, and as usual arguably the best value riesling in the country. Tasted June 2014. Score - 91. (John Szabo, M.S., winealign.com, June 9, 2014)
