Santa Carolina Gran Reserva Chardonnay 2012

Fantastic value for a very serious chardonnay. It has just the right amount of soft fragrant oak to augment the fruit on both nose and palate. This is big wine but it's also quite elegant with the tropical fruit and baked apple aromas nicely interwoven with grapefruit, custard and warm spice. The palate is very flavourful yet feels light due to the vibrant acidity. Very good to excellent length. Try with strongly flavoured pork, veal or chicken dishes. Best 2014 to 2017.
