Rustenberg Chardonnay 2013

Love this style of South African chardonnay. Toasty and rich but also mouth-watering and vibrant: it's got it all. This wine was aged in 40% new and 60% second-use oak barrels for a year. Toasted almond and green apple on the nose with lime-orange citrus on the palate. Balanced and lovely with a long finish. Wow! Pair with grilled chicken. Pair with: turkey burgers, crab cakes, chicken breast, lobster in butter sauce, cheese. Drink: 2013-2017. Score - 90. (Natalie MacLean, nataliemaclean.com, Nov. 2014)
