Hacienda Ernestina Solano Finca Cascorrales 2010

The 2010 Finca Cascorrales is produced with the unique grapes of a single, un-grafted, head-pruned, centenary vineyard planted in the late 19th century on sandy soils that were slowly fermented in small vats and aged in barrel for 13 months. It's quite aromatic, mixing notes of Mediterranean herbs with ripe, terse red and black fruit and hints of spices, or perhaps flowers. The palate is medium-bodied with good freshness and abundant, grainy tannins with a slightly bitter finish that seems to need more time in bottle. Only 1,200 bottles were produced. Drink 2015-2022.
