Lucien Le Moine La Garenne Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru 2012

Bright, pale yellow. Reticent aromas of lemon zest, menthol and wet stone. Stony and backward in the mouth, with bright acidity contributing punch to the mid-palate. Strong wet stone and wet soil notes currently dominate underlying citrus fruits. Finishes stony, fresh and long. Saouma noted that the must was almost syrupy at the outset and that this wine remained cloudy for its first 16 months in barrel. Score - 92-94. (Stephen Tanzer, vinousmedia.com, Sept. 2014)
