Lopez Cristobal Bagus 2009

The 2009 Bagus is from 85-year-old vines in Roa, aged for 14 months in 80% French and 20% American oak. It has a lifted, pure, floral bouquet with macerated dark cherries, raspberries and fresh black olives. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins and layers of intense dark berry fruit interlaced with dark chocolate. Yet it is never imposing and beautifully balanced on the finish. Superb.
