The lovely 2012 Roussanne Venus, always one of the last to be harvested, this blend of 97% Roussanne and 3% Viognier spent ten months in neutral oak. Most of the Roussane comes from the Dry Stack Vineyard in Dry Creek (also well-known for its Sauvignon Blanc fruit). The 2012 offers sumptuous aromas of lychee, honeysuckle, rose petals, caramelized citrus and exotic tropical fruits (mango and tangerine). Medium to full-bodied with stunning purity, this dry white delivers both power and elegance, but I would opt for drinking it in its first 2-3 years of life. Score - 93.
