The 2012 Faugeres Chateau Rigaud is a superb effort that does everything right. Layered, rich and textured, with medium to full-bodied weight on the palate, it gives up impressive dark fruits, licorice, toasted bread and spice on the nose. A blend of 55% Syrah, 26% Mourvedre and 19% Grenache aged 12 months in demi-muid (Syrah) and concrete tank (Grenache and Mourvedre), it should continue to impress through 2022. Score - 91.
