La Chatenière is a south- and southwest-facing 1er Cru vineyard that basks in the afternoon sun. As a result, Chatenière tends to make quite an opulent style of Saint-Aubin, such as this glassful of ripe pear fruit with complex notions of oatmeal, toasted nuts, thistle, and smoke.
