The 2011 Altos de la Finca is a blend of 60% Petit Verdot and 40% Syrah from the highest part of the vineyard and sees 18 months in new French oak. The varieties combine well together on the floral, violet-scented bouquet, with refined dark cherry and blueberry fruit. The palate is fleshy and sumptuous in the mouth with layers of mellifluous licorice-tinged cassis fruit and a refined finish that manages to maintain control and intensity. Superb. Score - 92.
