The cool 2012 growing season in Monterey - a region already blessed with the influence of cooling ocean-born breezes and fog - allowed the fruit of the Carmel Road Pinot Noir to experience near-ideal conditions for ripening slowly and completely. The nose is fruity, with cherry, earth, smoke and cedar. The mouth has excellent balance and freshness with a touch of sweetness to the fruit mid-palate. Superb value, this really packs a punch.
