Cicchitti Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

An outstanding wine, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva was sourced from the Altamira vineyard in Valle del Uco and aged for 12 months in French and American oak. Opaque purple-colored, it reveals some toasty oak, spice box, pencil lead, and black currants. On the palate there are layers of ripe, sweet fruit with incipient complexity. There is a fine integration of oak, tannin, and acidity, and a long, lightly tannic finish. This full-flavored wine will evolve 1-2 years and provide pleasure through 2020.
