This 'imprisoned' apple is part of the prestigious Signature range. The bottle is attached to the apple tree while in flower so the fruit develops inside the bottle. When it ripens, the fruit and the bottle are carefully detached. Then the bottles are cleaned and filled with Calvados. Years of maceration gently blend the flavours of the apple and the spirit. The result is an aroma that's full of apple cider and baked apple notes which carry through intensely on the palate. Rounded, smooth with deep apple flavours, this is great before dinner on the rocks, after dinner at room temperature or in-between courses as the Normans do. Heck anytime anyway would do for me.
