Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Chenevottes 2011 from Philippe Colin has a more floral and feminine bouquet than its peers with subtle touches of white flowers, shaved almond and popcorn that unfolds beautifully in the glass. The palate is clean and fresh with vibrant candied orange peel and citrus lemon. This is well defined and focused with a long and engaging, terroir-driven finish.
