Rodney Strong Chardonnay 2012

This wine exhibits all the positive attributes of barrel fermentation - a fullness of aroma, creamy texture and layers of complexity not often found at this price point. While there's a taste of richness the wine actually drinks lean, an exploration of Gravenstein apple and pear between swipes of lemon curd on toast. Score - 89.
