Domaine Jean Tardy Et Fils Grand Maupertuis Clos de Vougeot 2006

Here the wood spice is no longer subtle though neither does it dominate the complex and relatively high-toned nose that is ripe and pretty while showcasing lovely red and dark berry fruit aromas amply laced with earth and underbrush notes that are also picked up by the detailed and strikingly long full-bodied flavors that possess plenty of palate staining extract. This is a bit oaky for me but there is no question that this is a wine of real quality that should repay up to a decade of cellar time. Drink 2013+. Score - 90-92.
