Rodney Strong Reserve Chardonnay 2012

This is a big, powerful fairly deep yellow chardonnay with considerable smoky oak, vanillin and cashew on the nose. The fruit is a little less ripe than expected with pear/underripe pineapple. It's medium-full bodied, smooth but edgy with quite hot spicy finish. Excellent length. Score - 89. (David Lawrason, winealign.com, Sept. 19, 2014)
