J. Lohr Fog's Reach Pinot Noir 2007

This multi-award-winning wine features aromas of raspberry, black cherry, mineral and woodsmoke. Dry and initially ripely fruity, but after a few seconds on the palate, tantalizing tannins come in to bring a wonderful balance to this wine. Very enjoyable tonight with wild mushroom risotto and lamb shanks. Will also improve with 3+ years in a cellar. (VINTAGES panel, Oct. 2010)
